Biography
Philipp Maria Rosenberg is a Swiss pianist, composer and arranger. From an early age, his fascination for the piano was a constant companion, which developed into his calling from the age of fifteen. Parallel to his passion for improvisation and composition, he was always drawn to classical piano literature. He gave concerts in both jazz and classical repertoire. He completed his studies at the renowned Jazzcampus Basel with Prof. Hans Feigenwinter, Prof. Lester Menezes, Prof. Tobias Schabenberger and Prof. Guillermo Klein in jazz performance, piano pedagogy, classical piano and composition with summa cum laude. Various courses followed with luminaries such as Brad Mehldau, Aaron Parks, Ethan Iverson and Aaron Goldberg, Larry Grenadier and Mark Turner. The trio “Rotwelsch” founded by Rosenberg, for which he arranges, composes and organizes, is currently one of his main projects. In addition to various other artistic projects, his long-term projects include the duo with Andrea Janser, with whom he released the album “Enjoy it” in 2015. Since 2021 he has been teaching at the Zurich Conservatory Music School.
